How long does my hair need to be before I can get waxed?

Hair needs to be approximately 1/4 inch long.

 

How long should I wait between services before I am waxed again?

It all depends on the person. But the average person is serviced every 4-6 weeks.

 

Can I exfoliate before I get waxed?

By all means exfoliate your skin, but do it at least 72 hours (3 days) before your service. Also, we recommend you give it at least 48 hours (2 days) before exfoliating after your service to help reduce the possibility of ingrown hairs. 

 

How long does it take? 

It depends on the service being rendered and the person. Most services can be performed in 20 minutes or less (40 minutes for Full Body). Brazilians average 10-15 minutes. 

 

Will it hurt? 

While everyone is different, most customers do experience a level of temporary discomfort. We suggest taking ibuprofen 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to help ease the discomfort. Also numbing cream is available to help lessen the sensitivity prior to your service. (Please arrive 30-40 minutes early if you wish to receive numbing cream application - nominal fee applies) 

 

Do you double dip? 

Absolutely NOT! At Bare we have a strict No Double Dipping policy. Double dipping (putting the same stick after it has been used on the skin once back into the wax pot) can cause contamination and can lead to infection. 

 

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be received within 24 hours of scheduled appointment time. Failing to cancel in a timely manner causes us to miss out on other potential customers. Repeat offenders will be required to pre-pay for all services. If you book online and pay, and fail to give warning you will owe a $10 cancellation fee to be deducted from amount paid. If you are running late kindly give us a call to ensure we still have time to fit you into a timeslot close to your scheduled appointment. 

 

Who do you wax? 

Females & Males 18 years or older (for Brazilian & Bikini waxing). If a minor wishes to receive services they must be accompanied by a legal gaurdian. We do not render services to anyone under the age of 13 years old (eyebrows and facial waxing only if under 17).

 

Can I get waxed if I am taking medication for my skin?

We don't suggest those that are using any oral or topical medication for skin issues get waxed. There is a certain amount of "trauma" involved in waxing and we don't want to be responsible for any further irritation. Pleae make us aware if you are taking any oral or topical medications prior to your service. (ie, Acutane, Differin, Salicylic Acid, Blood Thinners, etc.)

 

I have a big event or trip planned, can I come get waxed the same day?

While it is completely up to you. We suggest you come in at least 24 hours prior to your big event or trip. After waxing the skin is naturally sensitive to things such as, exposure to the sun, deodorant, working out, sun tanning and even tight garments. Coming in ahead of time gives your body proper time to adjust. 

 

Can I change the service I want, once I've pre-paid?

Absolutely, just let your technician know at the time of service and appropriate adjustments will be made at the completion of your service.

 

Can I bring someone with me? 

We always like for our customers to be comfortable, so if having a friend come along makes you feel better, sure. It's even better if they plan to be serviced as well. We ask that you limit guests not receiving services from 1-2 people. 

 

Do you offer discounts to college students? 

Yes, we offer $2 off for College Students every day with valid college id. 

 

Are you open on Sundays?

Only by pre-paid appointment.

 

Are Walk-Ins Allowed?

While we encourage everyone to make an appointment, we absolutely welcome walk-ins! (Please be mindful that scheduled appointments get priority; meaning they will be seen first at their scheduled time even if they arrive after you.) 

 

Is there off-street parking?

Yes, we do have limited, free off street parking for our customers.

We are nestled in the Atlanta University Center at 140 James P. Brawley Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30314 across the street from the Robert W. Woodruff Library, look for the white BMC Realty building with the pink door. (If you're using GPS to find us, don't forget to put the SW in the address that's important!)
